Metro Atlanta area has a nice and active tango community.
Here you will find a summary of Atlanta tango lessons and milongas:

(The information came from teachers, organizers, or their respective websites. Please contact me for changes or corrections.)

  • Argentine Tango Atlanta (Luis Rognoni and Christine Zaarour)
Learn the rhythmic steps of the exotic tango in the original Argentine style you will see in the dance clubs of Buenos Aires. Luis Rognoni and Christine Zaarour, both professional dance instructors will help you develop the basic steps, choreography, and posture so characteristic of this beautiful style of partner communication on the dance floor.
  • Atlanta Tango (Barbara Durr and Angel Montero)
Atlanta Tango offers the experience of tango as it is danced in Buenos Aires and the best festivals in the United States. Atlanta Tango aims to get students on the social dance floor as quickly as possible. We want you to be able to share the passion and elegance of this beautiful dance—and not be stuck in classes forever without a social dancing experience. We teach the close embrace style of tango, also known as milonguero or apilado, which predominates in the crowded clubs of central Buenos Aires. Unlike the performance version of tango, the social dance is improvised. The close embrace style emphasizes the connection between partners and musicality and uses a rich and subtle body language. Come learn this beautiful and passionate dance! Classes are Wednesdays at 7:30pm and are held at a location by the intersection of North Druid Hills Rd. and Claimont Rd.
  • BATA (Horacio Arcidiacono)
Buenos Aires Tango Academy offers tango classes on Tuesdays at Several Dancers Core in Decatur, GA. Fundamentals classes start at 7:30pm for one hour, Intermediate/Advanced are at 8:30 for one hour as well. Horacio also teaches regular workshops in North and South Carolina. Please visit "special events and workshops" for more information.
  • Danneman's Milonga + Practica (Antje Stange and Tony Lucido)
Drop by to dance tango at the Atlanta downtown location, or just have a glass of wine, chat, and enjoy the edgy urban atmosphere. We welcome all tango dancers - no matter what age or nationality you are or what the "color" of your tango is.

We also have milongas the first Saturday of every month, with Horacio teaching an introductory lesson beforehand. Our milongas are organized by the students, and Horacio DJs; he plays a wide range of music. We'd like to connect Emory students, faculty, and staff to the Atlanta tango community and to enjoy experiencing tango amongst all ages, young and old.
  • Tango Evolution (Clint Rauscher, Lena Hrybok, and others)
TE tango classes in Atlanta focus on teaching a social style of Tango which enables our students to dance anywhere in the world, from Atlanta to Buenos Aires to Paris. In our classes, we combine the techniques of traditional Tango with the newer ideas of Tango Nuevo. Through the use of a dynamic embrace, our students are able to comfortably dance any style of Tango. We offer classes that range from beginning students taking their first steps to classes with the newest advanced techniques in the art of Tango. Tango Evolution's teachers are constant learners and enthusiastic performers; their tango knowledge is enriched by backgrounds in other dance forms, music, marshal arts and body-mind disciplines. We welcome anyone to join us on our Tango Journey and to share a passion and love for tango with each other. Tango Evolution classes are held at the Academy Ballroom dance studio in Buckhead, Atlanta.
  • Tango Rio (Ronda and Manuel Patino)
Tango Rio is dedicated to promoting Argentine Tango as a social dance and art form. You'll find us in Atlanta, teaching, performing and hosting special events. About six times a year Tango Rio organizes a tango party - Milonga at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center.
